First and only snow of this year in New York

 The Surf Bar in Williamsburg Brooklyn is a cozy warm place to come to on a cold winters day

 It's totally tacky like you would expect, but friendly and fun.

Come here for a cocktail and for a minute you forget it's cold out and start believing you are in Hawaii..

If you're in Murray Hill or the West Village and need a quick bite to eat or a nice frozen drink (or both), Caliente Cab is not a bad choice. Drinks are usually strong and tasty and the food is decent..

I have my lunch break by The Shops at Columbus Circle every day and some days I just can't resist  them...

 Every once in a while you just need some Swedish cider.. (even though it has 310 calories a bottle)

And the best place to get it, is Smörgås Chef

 And you can't go to Smörgås Chef without getting the Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce and mashed potatoes

 Smörgås Chef on 12th st and W4th (close to 8th avenue) is  a cozy place to come and eat on a cold winters day. In the summer time, I go to the one on Stone Street near Wall Street. It has a huge outdoor dining area for those hot summer days..

Or in this case, one of those unusually warm November days..
