Good riddance 2011

2011 was probably the worst year of my life. My grandmother died and the love of my life left me. Valentines Day was pure agony and my birthday sucked. I spent the summer trying to pick up the pieces of my broken heart and completely missed most of the sunshine. I drank too much.

That was my year.

I hope 2012 will bring better things. Cheers to that and good riddance to this miserable year!!

Pookie & Sebastian

I was going through my closet and found this summer dress from Pookie & Sebastian
It still has the tags on it. Summer went by so fast I never got a chance to wear it..
Summer of 2012 I will really try to make more of an effort to do things and go to places on the weekends and really enjoy it.. I hope it's a good one. After the year I've had, I'm so looking forward to the next one, starting fresh and all that..

Vintage Vixen

I found this gorgeous dress with a beaded top from a thrift store on Upper West Side.
One of my favorite things to do is to shop for vintage clothing. I just wish I had more occasions to wear this stuff to...
I wish I could go and live in the 50s when women wore high heels, furs and pretty dresses. Now it's all about comfort and unisex over feminine style.. So sad..

Gingerbread House

I was too lazy and uninspired this year to make a gingerbread house, but last year when I still had some love in my heart, I baked these for the fun of it.. I don't really like gingerbread, but I was bored at the time and wanted to make our home look and smell nice for Christmas. That house is no longer my home and since I don't really have sentimental ties to this apartment I am in now, I skipped all the baking this Christmas. Maybe next year.. maybe...

It's really easy to make a gingerbread house. You just get a template for the pieces and cut the shapes out of the gingerbread, bake them in the oven like regular cookies and then "glue" everything together with royal icing. Then decorate with any kind of left over Halloween candy you can find in the house and voila!

It's over!!

My Christmas was interesting. It was kind of nice, a quiet Christmas, very stress free.. with nice wine and good food..
But I am jolly glad it is all over and next weekend it's New Years, after which I'm going to detox and diet! All these parties have made me so unhealthy..

Christmas Eve

I don't usually buy Christmas presents for people, but I made a few exceptions this year.. I do everything last minute and went shopping on Christmas Eve. Found everything I needed and then had fun wrapping them all up. I think I did a pretty good job and at least they look nice on the outside.. lets hope the receivers will like the inside too..
I'm glad it's almost over, so we can concentrate on celebrating the New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday from me, myself and I

I will call him "Snappy"

I brought my new baby home today! I wanted this camera for so long.. and finally I broke my piggy bank and went and got it! This is my Birthday/Christmas present to myself. Thank you me! You are the best!
Now hopefully I will start taking more photos again and do more creative stuff with my time..

My old camera looks so little now, the poor baby..

Atlantic City in November

I went to AC to see Social Distortion a while back and just made it in time to catch the sunset on the cold, quiet beach.
