11 days ago it was that time of the year again.. my birthday.. I hate my birthday.. This year it stung even more for undisclosed reasons.. but seeing some good friends and eating lots of cake and drinking tons of booze made it better..

Nuts for Polka Dots!

An early recorded use of the term "polka dot" is in 1871 in Godey's magazine, The pattern is named for the dance of the same name, so it is suspected there is a connection linking the pattern to the dance. Instead, the name was settled upon because of the dance's popularity at the time the pattern became fashionable.

XVI

The other week my friend and I were in the mood for some rooftoppin' so we made our way to XVI.

The crowd is too young and the music too loud. I know, I sounds like a granny.. but the view is nice..

 The food and drinks are through the roof, but delicious.

My company fabulous of course :)

The view and the nice breeze on a hot day make this place worth a visit.

We then moved the party to a more private one at a friends rooftop on Wall St.

Southampton

And so the swimsuit makes another appearance!

Trying to enjoy the rest of the summer before it's gone..

75 Main

Today after a perfect day at the beach in Southampton my friend and I stopped at 75 Main for some munchies.

I had crap cake, ahem I mean Crab cake! (my favorite) and some very nice Chianti.

 My friend had the Tilapia. I sampled some of her dish and it was fab..
Al fresco in the summer, is there anything better?

Swimsuit season is almost over!

Since I've spent the majority of the summer trying to deal with a broken heart, I haven't really had time to enjoy the sunshine and so far I've only taken the bathing suit out only once..

Well summer isn't over yet, maybe my polka dot (my new addiction, polka dots!) DKNY bathing suit will see the light of day again.. I hope..
In these hot and humid summers my leather purses are too sticky and heavy so I take out my Vera Bradleys.. They are corny and very Long Island, but they are made of fabric and are light and big enough to fit bottles of water and sunblock..

At least the nights are long in the summer.. like I said, it's not over yet...
