Hooters!

I've never actually been to a Hooters and definitely never worked at one, but I have a strange obsession to buy their shirts whenever I find one..

Salmiakki Martini

Since they don't have salmiakki vodka in this part of the world, one has to make it herself.

It's very easy.
You need some Turkish Pepper candy and your favorite vodka.
I used Grey Goose, because I am a vodka snob and added a bunch of candies in the glass.

It takes about an hour or so for them to completely dissolve in the alcohol, but it's worth the wait.
This is basically a glass full of pure vodka and candy. So dangerously tasty :)

Fire Island- Johny Pool's Annual Drag Attack- Drag at it's worst!

My Finnish friends from Jersey came over the other Tuesday to join me on a trip to Fire Island.
We got slightly distracted by apple martinis and taking photos that we left for the ferry a little too late.
Vanity will always make you late :)
We missed the ferry by about 5-10 minutes and had to wait two hours for the next one. So we had lunch at the small restaurant by the ferry and walked to the little beach in Sayville by Lands End
 Finally on the ferry!
The sun came out too, just in time!
We of course took the wrong ferry and ended up having to walk some 20 minutes to Cherry Grove.
Which was alright, because it is a pretty walk with bamboo trees and nice houses along boardwalks and sandy dunes..
Finally we made it to Cherrys on the Bay
It was "drag at it's worst" Johny Pool's Annual Drag Attack.
I didn't take many photos, but you can find more on Cherrys facebook page
A quick walk to the beach
A quick sit down by the Ice Palace

Super quick sit down at a restaurant for dinner. We actually had to take the food with us, because the last ferry was leaving in a few minutes.
The view from the ferry on our way home. What a hectic quick trip it was, but it was still a lot of fun.

Fat Fish

In Long Island there are many restaurants overlooking the Great South Bay
Like Fat Fish in Bay Shore
So nice to eat outside looking at sailing boats go by. Sorry for the bad photo, but I didn't feel like getting up to take a better one.
Despite the look on my face..
I love clams in white wine
On hot days like these I just want to eat salads and other light things.
And lox, lots of lox.

Finns and Atlantic City

In honor of a friends 30th birthday celebrations, a bunch of us Finns traveled to Atlantic city for one fun filled Friday night.

The beach & boardwalk are long with a bunch of tacky shops, rides and big casinos.

Talking of tacky we of course had lunch at Johnny Rockets.
Burger and red wine. Mmmm.
Johnny Rockets is right next to House Of Blues. So it makes it a good place to check out cute rockers coming from sound check walking by ;) Black Label Society was playing this night, but we were too busy with our own plans.
Plan being, dancing at Dusk, after which we ended up in Wild Wild West..
Morning after some serious clubbing you need a serious breakfast. I splurged on this lox platter, which was delicious.
Then some shopping at this wonderful shopping mall called The Pier Shops at Caesars After which we hit the outlets for some bargain hunting.
This made us hungry and Jimmy led us to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and tasty cocktails called Purple Haze.
I believe our waiter had some purple haze of his own since he seemed very confused and erratic..
Came home around 3am Sunday morning, suuper tired from the long trip home. We had a wonderful time though, so it was all worth it.
